Wow! Just wow! What an epic first week of preschool the Six Sweet Seals have had! We are all exhausted! I’m so thankful they only go to school 3 days a week because that gives us 4 days to recuperate! This first week has been a learning experience for all of us, especially me! Here’s our adventures this first week….
Day 1: So, if you didn’t read my post about the first day of school then you missed out! Go read it! 1.) Brady slipped in mud while walking to the school building–he ruined his new shirt and shorts. **I’m still sad about that.** 2.) Brant was running a fever and couldn’t go to school. Overall, everyone did pretty well.
Day 2: 1.) Rayleigh was awake around 4am, Brant woke up around 4:30am, Gracie woke up around 5am and so forth…so it was quiet interesting in my bathroom, trying to get dressed with six kids running around and getting into everything (it is my goal to get up before the kids wake up and get completely dressed. It’s too hard to get ready when they’re all up.) 2.) Everyone went to school and I ran lots of errands. I am amazed how much I can accomplish without six kids in stow. 3.) Mia fell and busted her lip.
Day 3: 1.) I forgot to set my alarm clock and woke up 30 minutes late. 2.) Tessa was running fever and couldn’t go to school. 3.) I fell out of the van on my bum (thankfully I wasn’t holding a kid, & I caught myself, & I landed on grass). No worries, I’m not hurt, in fact this is my second time in the past 2 weeks to fall out of the van on my bum, the first time did hurt and I was sore for a couple of days. 4.) Got a call from the school that Gracie was running fever. When I got to the school, Brady was also running a fever so I just took all six kids home.
So, it’s been an interesting and exhausting week and it’s only Wednesday!!! But overall, the kids did well. I have a lot of cleaning and organizing to do this weekend to get ready for next week. Thankfully, because I was so organized this week, when something came up, it wasn’t a big deal because I had prepared for whatever happened. I do have to do better with meal planning. I’ve been so tired that making dinner is the last thing I want to do in the evenings. I’ve got to do better in this department.
So our memorable first week is in the books. The kids all like their teachers and seem to enjoy going to school, which makes my heart so happy. I’m just hoping we can all get healthy and stay healthy.
