So it’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve blogged, I didn’t expect to take a little break, but life just gets busy sometimes and there’s no time for the extra stuff. I had several people text and send messages asking what was going on and if I was going to blog again, yes, I’m still here and doing to do my best to stay on top of things. So, lets get to it……
Last week a mom at Brady’s school told me about a business in town that was offering free Zumba and Kickboxing classes to stay-at-home-moms, for the month of September. I said before school started that I wanted to exercise when the kids were in school, but I have yet to go inquire about any gyms or programs. So when she said free, I knew I needed to check it out. Last Monday I went to Zumba and I loved it! Everyone was sweet, I had fun, but most of all, I got a great workout. I went back on Wednesday to Turbo Kickboxing and loved it too! I was sore for the next couple of days. So, that’s why I didn’t have time to blog last week. I was too busy working out. The quints haven’t been napping well lately on the days we go to school. We have about a 30 minute drive home and most, if not all, of them fall asleep in the van. That little catnap is enough to keep them from wanting to go to sleep at nap time. And because they don’t sleep, I don’t get much accomplished at home like cleaning or blogging. So, that’s my excuses for not blogging.
Friday night we took the kids to our High School’s Homecoming football game. All the ladies on the Homecoming court were beautiful. My niece, Makenna is a cheerleader and my nephew, Gage, plays football, he is the quarterback and he also plays on defense too. This year our school started a new little program called Bleacher Creatures where the elementary age kids get to run out on the field before the football players. The past two home games, Brady has refused to run on the field. Both times he got someone to give him a piggyback ride. So Friday, before the game, I told him he had to run. I didn’t care if he held someone’s hand, but he could not ride on someone’s back. I was pleasantly surprised because he ran onto the field all by himself. Oh, and the best part of the whole night was that our Cardinals won the game! Gage had over 200 yards rushing in the game and SIX touchdowns!!!!! We are very proud of him and well as the whole Cardinal team!
This past Saturday, Brady had his first soccer game. It was hot and Brady doesn’t like the heat. He basically just stood in the middle of the field and did nothing. The game lasted about 20-25 minutes and he needed to use the restroom twice during that time. I’m hoping now that he’s seen what a game is like that he will be more involved next week. Let’s just say he’s got lots of room for improvement. But we enjoyed going to the soccer field and getting to visit with other parents and friends. Later that evening, Steven and I got together with several of our classmates. We graduated together. Our graduating class had a whopping 30 people, yes, we are small town folks, and 8 of us, along with our spouses, got together for dinner. It was so fun to relax and catch up with everyone. Hopefully the next time we get together more of our classmates will be able to attend.
I’m working on an update on each kid. I hope to post it this week, so stay tuned!
Here’s some pictures to show you what we’ve been up to the past two weeks!
