It’s no secret, the quints completely changed mine and Steven’s lives. We are so busy keeping up with the kids and keeping up with household chores that we rarely do anything with our friends. This year, one of my goals is to reconnect with friends that I’ve lost contact with. I have to say, and I’m not trying to brag (well, not too much anyways) but I have absolutely the most amazing friends in the whole world. I have the kind of friends that are there for me when I need them, no matter what.
Just yesterday, I received a care package from my friend, Paula. I have lived with Paula and her hubby, Dave on three different occasions. They have been so wonderful to open up their home to me when I really needed a place to stay. So, during all that time of living together we all got to know each other really well and they know my love for Do-si-dos Girl Scout cookies. While I was pregnant with the quints and on bed rest in the hospital, Dave and Paula made sure I never ran out of Do-si-dos. (That’s probably one of the reasons the quints were such good size for their gestation.) Well, yesterday I received a package, and inside was a box of Do-si-dos! Paula has been keeping close tabs on our potty training adventure so she and Dave sent me some cookies to help me get through this stage in our lives. I feel so loved. And it warms my heart that even though I don’t get to see them much anymore, they still think about me and take the time to let me know they think about me. Everyone needs friends like Dave and Paula, because they are more than friends, they are framily.
So my challenge to myself and to all of you that read my blog is to be a good friend to someone. We all need friends. And we all need to know that someone cares about us. Surprise a friend this week.
**Paula and Dave…you’ve met this challenge this week. Thank you and I love you!
