Friday, I loaded my car and headed south for the weekend. Steven has completed his summer courses which freed him up to watch the kids so I could get away for a much needed break. My grandmother lives in Houston so I went to visit her and relax. I don’t get to see my grandmother much so it was so nice to catch up and focus on our conversations. Friday night we had dinner with my cousin. The food was amazing and I enjoyed catching up with Riley.
Saturday we got in the car and drove to Galveston. We walked around and did a little shopping, then we headed to the beach! Galveston isn’t known for it’s beautiful beaches but I didn’t care. It was so relaxing to stand with my feet in the water and to listen to the waves crash into the beach. It was a typical hot Texas day but at the beach there was a gentle cool breeze and it was perfect! Afterwards we had dinner at a seafood restaurant before heading back to Houston.
Sunday we had brunch at nice restaurant before I had to leave. It was the perfect weekend getaway. I slept late, relaxed, and got to spend some much needed quality time with my grandmother. She’s such a beautiful soul and every time we’re together we have the best time. And she really knows how to spoil me, which I love!
Before I left the Houston area, I met up with a fellow mom of higher order multiples. Lauren and I have become friends through Facebook and she is such an amazing person. I enjoyed spending time with someone who understands my life (Lauren is a mom of sextuplets). We visited for almost 2 hours before I had to head home.
I am so thankful Steven let me get away this weekend. It was just what I needed to recharge my batteries. Now it’s time to get ready for school. This is our last week of summer, next Monday Brady will head to Kindergarten and the quints will start Pre-K 3.
