I come to you tonight asking for your prayers. So far 2018 hasn’t been to good for me in terms of my health.
Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with the flu. A couple of days after I recovered I noticed my left thumb and index finger were numb. And it was a constant numbness that never went away. Each day after that another body part, on my left side, went numb, working its was up my arm then down my body. In a span of 4 days my whole left side was numb (from my fingers all the way to my toes). Now, two weeks later, some of my right side is going numb. My left arm, hand, and fingers are the worst; I’ve lost most of my fine motor skills and have decrease strength in my left hand.
I’ve had several tests run, 1 neck X-ray, 1 CT, 3 MRIs, and lots of blood work. My MRIs show a spot on my spinal cord (located at my C-2). Tomorrow I will have a lumbar procedure. And on Friday I will start an iv steroid transfusion (I’ll do it Monday and Tuesday as well.)
I’m not sharing all of this because I want people to diagnose me. My doctors are working very hard to figure out what is wrong with me. It could take up to 2 weeks to get all my tests results back. I will keep you posted on my diagnosis.
I’m sharing this because I need your prayers, specifically that the lumbar procedure goes well tomorrow and that the steroid infusion improves my symptoms. We are nervous and scared, please pray for peace of mind. Please pray for total healing of my body.
Steven has been by my side throughout this whole process. I’m so blessed to have such a loving and supportive husband. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him.
And we are so grateful to our wonderful “village” who stop what they’re doing to help us with the kids. Thank you Mom, Teresa, Tom, Marty, Sheila, Kayla, and Kristian. And thank you to everyone who has been praying for me; please keep them coming.
