On my Facebook page I’ve been playing a Guess Who game with old pictures of the quints. It’s been so fun to read everyone’s guesses. And I have loved going through pictures of when the kids were little. Well, technically they’re still little but they are growing up so fast and have changed so much. So here’s a few of oldies for you to enjoy as well as some new pictures.

12 things you need when traveling with kids

‘Tis the season to be traveling! Since it’s summer and I know lots of people are going on family vacations, I thought I’d share some traveling tips that have come in handy with my crew.

Ziplock bags – I tell you what, I could be a spokes person for Ziplock bags because I use them for practically everything. The bags were particularly helpful when packing the kids’ clothes for our vacation. I labeled the bags and rolled up the clothes and it worked out perfectly.

I also use Ziplock bags in the car for food. I buy adult size meals and use the Ziplock bags to separate the food out for each kid.

They also make great trash bags in a moment of need.

Food – Listen to me mamas…don’t leave home for a vacation without some snacks and drinks. Food keeps kids happy and quiet for a little while. Also, it will save you money. I keep food in the van at all times.

Extra clothes – It’s just a good idea to always have an extra pair of clothes in the car, just in case, when it comes to kids. But it’s especially important when you’re traveling.

Hand sanitizer/sanitizer wipes – I always have hand sanitizer in my cars. I use it every time I get in my car or go through a drive-thru. Sanitizer wipes are nice for the kids.

Baby wipes – No matter how old your kids are, it’s always a good idea to have baby wipes on hand.

Potty chair – If your kids are at the stage where they are potty training or are just potty trained and haven’t learned to let you know they need to potty before the moment it’s about to happen….then I suggest putting a potty chair in your vehicle, just in case. I keep one in the van at all times, since potty training the quints in February and I can’t tell you how many times it’s been used. It’s so nice to not have to stop at a store, pull all six kids out and take them in a nasty public restroom just for one kid to pee. The potty chair has been a life saver for us.

Sunscreen – This time of the year, I keep sunscreen in my bag.

Night light – I knew the hardest part of our first vacation was going to be getting the kids to sleep at night. I’m so thankful I remembered to grab the night light before I left home. A little light made them feel more comfortable and came in handy when someone woke up during the night.

Plastic tote – Instead of packing suitcases, I used a large tote to put all the kids’ clothes, towels, blankets, etc. in.

First aid kit – I have a first aid kit in my van and in my mom bag.

Extra medicine – Tessa ran fever while we were on vacation, I’m so thankful I packed Motrin, Tylenol, thermometer, along with other meds for our trip.

And while we’re talking about vacations, can I just add how wonderful it is to stay at a place that has a washer and dryer. Our cabin had a washer and dryer and it was so nice to come home with clean clothes instead of piles and piles of dirty clothes. Plus I didn’t have to pack as many clothes in the first place because I knew I could wash the same ones over and over. So, if you do stay at a place with a washer and dryer…don’t forget your laundry detergent. πŸ™‚

Mother’s Day 2017

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I hope your day was full of lots of love and laughter.

My Mother’s Day weekend didn’t go as planned. Late Wednesday night, a young lady from our community passed away in an automobile accident. She was so beautiful, inside and out, and just the sweetest person ever. My heart is broken for her family. I can’t imagine their pain. During her funeral all I could think of was her mama. I can’t think of anything worse than losing one of my babies. It was so heartbreaking.

You know friends, I’ve seen lots of posts on social media about moms wishing to get a day off on Mother’s Day or a vacation that day to get away from their kids, and I can honestly say that’s the last thing I want. Tomorrow isn’t promised to me or Steven or any of my six kids. On Mother’s Day, I want to see their sweet little faces and hear their cute voices when they say “Happy Mother’s Day”. I want to feel their hugs and kisses. Moms, we must always cherish every little moment with our children. None of us know if this Mother’s Day will be our last Mother’s Day with one of our children. It’s so important for all of us to make each day count. Live life to the fullest. Enjoy every phase of their lives, the good, the bad, and even the toddler years (times 5)!!!

My Mother’s Day was very low-key. We went to church and then Steven grilled steaks for lunch. Afterwards, we all took naps, well, they sleptΒ and I blogged.

I’m so thankful for Brady, Mia, Tessa, Brant, Gracie, and Rayleigh. I’m thankful God chose me to be their mama. Being their mama is the hardest job I’ve ever had. They wear me out, they frustrate me, they drive me crazy, but I can’t imagine my life without all six of them in it! They fill my life with so much love and joy and it is a honor to be their mama.

Brady Boo

He is my rainbow baby. After three heartbreaking miscarriages I was losing hope of ever having my own baby. Thank you Lord for blessing me with this sweet little boy. I love him with all my heart. 🌈

The Quints….

They are my surprise babies. I never would have imagined I’d carry and give birth to quintuplets, but my God is able! I’m so thankful for these 5 little surprises. They make life so fun!

My greatest blessings call me Mama!

Sunday night after church we went out to eat pizza. Mia and I had fun taking selfies.

Things I Love: Day 14

First off, Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day is filled with lots of love and laughter.

Well I did it! We are now at my #1 (earthly) thing I love….and of course it’s no surprise that it’s my sweetie. Steven is seriously the best guy in the whole wide world. He’s a great friend, hubby, and father, but the thing I love most about him is that he’s a Godly man. He’s one of those guys that can do a little bit of everything. He is so helpful with the kids and they absolutely adore him. He takes such good care of all of us. He works hard to provide for a big family. He’s just amazing.

So without getting carried away because I could seriously go on and on and on about how great he is, I thought I’d do a fun Get to Know Us game. I’ve been seeing people post these questions and answers about their spouse, so I thought it would be fun to do the same.

  1. Who’s the oldest? Me
  2. Who was interested first? Him
  3. Same high school? Yes
  4. Most sensitive? Me
  5. Worst temper? Me
  6. Most social? Him
  7. Hardest working? Him
  8. Most stubborn? Me
  9. Most sarcastic? Him
  10. Causes the most mess? Me
  11. Wakes up first? Him
  12. Biggest family? Me
  13. Who cooks the most? Him
  14. Who cries more? Me
  15. Best singer? Him
  16. Hogs the remote? Me
  17. Best driver? Me
  18. Better cook? Him
  19. Spends the most money? Me
  20. Smartest? Probably about the same
  21. Common sense? Probably about the same
  22. How long have you been together? 12 years (married for 10)

Things I Love: Day 13

Day #13: I love my sweet Brady James. He’s such a loving little boy. He knows everything there is to know about Thomas the Train. He loves to play with Brant. He’s funny, loud, and full of energy. He always tells me, “mama, I sure do love you”. He just melts my heart. I sure love my Brady Boo.

Things I Love: Day 12

Day #12: I love my sweet little Mia Danielle. She is so spunky and full of life. She loves to make you smile and usually is wearing a smile herself. She is tough as nails and very stubborn. She loves to be held and to snuggle. Life would be so boring without our little Mia.
