Camping Trip–Day 4

We have finally made it to the last day of our vacation. On Monday we woke up, got dressed, packed up, took a ton of pictures (as you’re about to see), and headed home.

This was the perfect first vacation for our family. My idea of the perfect vacation is going to a beautiful beach. I absolutely love the beach. And originally, we thought about going to the beach, but we knew the kids just wouldn’t be up for it this year. We have to drive pretty much all day to get to a nice beach; we just didn’t want to stress ourselves out with such a long trip in the car. Broken Bow is only 2 hours away and not once did the kids complain about the drive. The lake was so nice and relaxing and it’s nice to know we don’t have to drive 2 days to have a nice, fun, and relaxing vacation. Maybe in a few years the kids will be ready for such a long trip, but until then, we’re perfectly happy vacationing close to home.

Here’s some extra “outtake” pictures.

Camping Trip–Day 3

Sorry for dragging this very short trip out but with all the pictures I am sharing, one post would have been massive. So here we go with Day 3.

Sunday we got up and went to church in Broken Bow. It was raining that morning and rain was in the forecast all day but thankfully after lunch it was clear so we headed out to have some more fun. We took a train ride through the park, road go-carts, and spent some time by the river before the rain made us leave. We were so thankful for the nice weather so we could have some fun out of the cabin.

Ready to go to church and this guy was being a weirdo. πŸ˜‚
Gosh I sure love him. ❀️

So I was in charge of packing and I did a great job except for the fact I forgot to pack myself any shoes. The only shoes I had were the ones on my feet! So I had to wear these old flip flops to church with my dress. πŸ™ˆπŸ˜¬πŸ˜Ÿ

My cuties all ready for church. This was their first time in a church other than ours and they did so well.

We had the sweetest conductor for our train ride. He was in awe of the quints and of course big brother too.

Seems like lately in every picture we take that someone has their finger in their nose.
😣🀣

While on the train, the conductor threw corn and the squirrels and deer came right up to the track to eat.

The kids loved playing in the water at the river.

Nana and Pop’s with all the grandkids.

Then we road go-carts.

Brant loves to dance.

I know I’ve said this on every post but we really had so much fun! The kids did so good and enjoyed everything we did.

Camping Trip–Day 2

I failed to mention yesterday where we went on vacation… we went to Broken Bow, OK. It’s only approximately 2 hours from our house which is one of the main reasons we picked it. I really wanted to go to the beach, but we knew the kids weren’t up for such a long road trip so we kept it close this year. And honestly, I’m glad we did, we had so much fun and didn’t have to go that far to get there.

The whole weekend was forecasted to be rainy…every.single.day! 😩 We were all so bummed, but thankfully the rain held off and we were able to get out and have lots of fun! Day 2 was our water day. We rented a party barge and spent the morning on the lake. Gage and Makenna tubed behind the barge. And Brady took a turn too. Β After lunch Marty, Kara, and Erin came up and we all played, kayaked, and swam the whole afternoon. That evening Jeremy grilled steaks. It was such a fun day!!!

As you can see, the sun zapped everyone and they were out!

Brant’s Homecoming Day

Three years ago today, we brought our precious only boy quint home from the NICU. That moment, this day, is one of those memories that you never forget. Throughout my pregnancy and at the beginning of our long NICU stay, I honestly didn’t know if we’d bring any of the quints home, so when the day finally arrived to take Brant home I was overcome with so many emotions. I was overjoyed, overwhelmed, scared, excited, thankful, and so, so, so blessed to name a few.

Our NICU days are a distant memory now. But I will never forget how amazing everyone in the Baylor NICU were to us. I’m forever grateful to everyone single person who worked with, cared for, and loved our quints. ❀️

This picture popped up on my Facebook newsfeed today. And there is a big part of me that wishes for just a few minutes to go back and snuggle my little guy because he’s not so little anymore. He’s all boy, full of laughter and mischief. He has the most adorable wink and smile. I’m thankful for how far Brant has come since the day we brought him home. He has filled our lives with so much happiness and love. πŸ’™

Happy Homecoming Day Brant!!!

Our Crazy Busy MorningΒ

So if you read my post yesterday, then you already know we had an early morning. I don’t know what possessed me to make the kids dentist appointment for 7:30AM 😳 but I did. Steven got me out of bed when he left for work. I got ready then got the kids ready, all before 7am. I’m happy to report, we were on time for our appointment!! πŸŽ‰

The good thing about our 7:30am appointment is that we walked right back to get our teeth cleaned. And we were the only people there so we had the whole place to ourselves. Brady, Brant, and Tessa were amazing! They let both the hygienist and dentist do everything they needed to do. Mia had to sit up while the hygienist cleaned her teeth but she did great. Rayleigh and Gracie were scared. Both eventually, willingly, got their teeth cleaned but did not get X-rays. I was really proud of them for being so brave. The best news is that everyone has healthy teeth!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ No cavities!!!

I love how Brant is holding on to the chair for dear life. πŸ˜‚

After we left the appointment we headed to the mall to play and eat breakfast.

Rayleigh was playing dentist and checking Gracie’s teeth. Gracie was really proud of her clean teeth. 😁

Then we went bowling!!!

The kids all fought over who got to sit over the vent.

It was an action packed morning and fun was had by all! I noticed on our newΒ appointment card that our next appointment was also scheduled for 7:30am. 😱 I called yesterdayΒ afternoon and had that changed to 9am. πŸ˜‰

If you live in the Texarkana area, I highly recommend Pediatric Dentistry of Texarkana. Everyone is so nice and friendly. They take excellent care of kids and don’t force kids to do anything they aren’t comfortable with; they work hard to not scare kids (and that’s really important to me because I want my kids to feel comfortable with their dentist). We have always had a good experience with Dr. Glass and Dr. Bunch. 😁

And a special thank you to Katie and Tom for all their help yesterday! You ladies are the best! ❀️

Mother’s Day 2017

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I hope your day was full of lots of love and laughter.

My Mother’s Day weekend didn’t go as planned. Late Wednesday night, a young lady from our community passed away in an automobile accident. She was so beautiful, inside and out, and just the sweetest person ever. My heart is broken for her family. I can’t imagine their pain. During her funeral all I could think of was her mama. I can’t think of anything worse than losing one of my babies. It was so heartbreaking.

You know friends, I’ve seen lots of posts on social media about moms wishing to get a day off on Mother’s Day or a vacation that day to get away from their kids, and I can honestly say that’s the last thing I want. Tomorrow isn’t promised to me or Steven or any of my six kids. On Mother’s Day, I want to see their sweet little faces and hear their cute voices when they say “Happy Mother’s Day”. I want to feel their hugs and kisses. Moms, we must always cherish every little moment with our children. None of us know if this Mother’s Day will be our last Mother’s Day with one of our children. It’s so important for all of us to make each day count. Live life to the fullest. Enjoy every phase of their lives, the good, the bad, and even the toddler years (times 5)!!!

My Mother’s Day was very low-key. We went to church and then Steven grilled steaks for lunch. Afterwards, we all took naps, well, they sleptΒ and I blogged.

I’m so thankful for Brady, Mia, Tessa, Brant, Gracie, and Rayleigh. I’m thankful God chose me to be their mama. Being their mama is the hardest job I’ve ever had. They wear me out, they frustrate me, they drive me crazy, but I can’t imagine my life without all six of them in it! They fill my life with so much love and joy and it is a honor to be their mama.

Brady Boo

He is my rainbow baby. After three heartbreaking miscarriages I was losing hope of ever having my own baby. Thank you Lord for blessing me with this sweet little boy. I love him with all my heart. 🌈

The Quints….

They are my surprise babies. I never would have imagined I’d carry and give birth to quintuplets, but my God is able! I’m so thankful for these 5 little surprises. They make life so fun!

My greatest blessings call me Mama!

Sunday night after church we went out to eat pizza. Mia and I had fun taking selfies.

Brady’s first Texas Rangers baseball game. It was so much fun!

3.) What I’m loving….

Warmer weather, the kids playing outside, and Brady’s tee ball games.
